About WildfireSignal
WildfireSignal is an independent wildfire data and mapping project operated by Ink Design Studio LLC in Orlando, Florida. It is built to make public fire information easier to understand without blurring the differences between official incidents, published fire perimeters, Copernicus burned-area data and satellite heat.
Why WildfireSignal exists
Wildfire information comes from public systems that describe different things and update on different schedules. An agency incident report, a published perimeter, a Copernicus fire area and a NASA heat detection are not interchangeable. WildfireSignal brings those sources into one place while preserving what each one actually represents.
What makes the site useful
The site combines live maps, national briefings, state and country dashboards, and individual fire pages with source labels, update times and plain-language limitations. The goal is to help people move quickly from a map or number to the source and context behind it.
Source first
Official incident reports, published perimeters, Copernicus fire areas and satellite heat keep their own labels and meanings.
Current context
Update times, saved snapshots and source status help show what is current, what changed and what may be delayed.
Clear limitations
WildfireSignal is not an emergency-alerting service and does not replace evacuation orders, warnings or instructions from official authorities.
What WildfireSignal is not
WildfireSignal does not confirm every satellite heat detection as a wildfire, does not turn burned-area mapping into containment information, and does not verify evacuation zones or safe travel routes. For immediate danger and local emergency instructions, use the responsible fire, emergency-management and law-enforcement authorities.
