NASA FIRMS thermal detections indicate heat observed by satellite sensors. They may represent wildfire activity, prescribed fire, agricultural burning, industrial heat or other thermal sources. Cloud cover, smoke, overpass timing and sensor limits can affect detection.

For U.S. wildfire views, incident names, locations, acreage, containment and update times come from WFIGS/NIFC-related official feeds. Reported values may be estimates, may lag field conditions and may be revised as agencies update records.

Mapped boundaries and points are snapshots, not precise real-time fire edges. A perimeter may be incomplete, generalized or older than current fire behavior. Map symbols can overlap or be filtered at wider zoom levels for readability.

International country pages combine NASA FIRMS heat with Copernicus burned-area data or, where supported, official fire feeds. Canada uses CWFIS and Australia uses supported state incident feeds. Each fire page identifies its source and keeps satellite heat separate from official incident reporting.

WildfireSignal refreshes source data on a schedule, but upstream outages, throttling, network issues or source publication delays can make information stale or temporarily unavailable. Update timestamps describe the latest data received by the site, not necessarily the latest observation in the field.

WildfireSignal makes reasonable efforts to present source data clearly but does not guarantee that every wildfire, heat detection, perimeter or official update is shown, accurate or current. Always verify consequential information with the responsible authority.
